Training Advisor Letter

To: Training Advisors of Petitioners to Candidacy

From: Chairperson, Training/Credentialing Committee
American College of Theriogenologists

Thank you for serving as a training advisor for a petitioner to candidacy with the American College of Theriogenologists. The ACT Training/Credentialing Committee, which reviews credentials of prospective candidates, relies to a great extent on the information provided by the training advisor when determining an applicant’s suitability for candidacy in the ACT.

In addition to any general comments you would like to make, please specifically address the petitioner’s progress in their training program. If the petitioner has completed training, did he/she satisfactorily complete the program?

Your letter should be addressed to the Training/Credentialing Committee, placed in an envelope and sealed. You should sign the envelope over the sealed flap and give it to the petitioner for inclusion in the credentials packet, which will be forwarded to the committee.

Thank you for your assistance.

Mission Statement

The mission of the ACT is to promote animal well-being, reproductive health, responsible breeding and genetic practices, and efficient management of breeding-age animals in agriculture, veterinary practice, zoos, preserves, and ecosystems. In particular, the ACT envisions development of focus areas in theriogenology to incorporate the following in theriogenology/reproductive medicine:

1. Population control for domestic and non-domestic animals including feral animals, free-ranging and captive wildlife.

2. Genomics in livestock and companion animal practice.
