Scientific Abstract Committee

Are you interested in becoming a member of the Scientific Abstract Committee? Nominations for open positions are typically requested in November of each year. Keep an eye on your newsletter or email list serve for the annual call for nominations. Abstract Committee members must be ACT Diplomates or Honorary Members with a strong background in scientific writing and scientific reviewing. Additionally, committee members should be familiar with the current theriogenology literature. Members can serve on the committee for four years as one of the permanent members, or can serve for two years as one of the ad hoc members. The four permanent members are selected to insure that there is always at least one equine, food animal, and small animal as well as one mixed animal representative on the committee. The four-year member serves as chair in the third year.  The ad hoc positions are unrestricted by species, but one ad hoc member must be a recent (wiithin the past five years) Diplomate.

Committee members solicit and review abstracts for presentation at the Annual Meeting of the Society for Theriogenology. Members also are responsible for chairing the abstract sessions at the annual meeting and participate in judging the competitive abstract session of the meeting. Serving on the committee is a wonderful opportunity to work with fellow Diplomates and learn more about the exciting research that is ongoing in our field. If you are interested in learning more about the Scientific Abstract Committee, please contact the current Chair.
